Want a beautifully straight smile with discreet orthodontic treatment? No wires, no brackets, no metal braces — Invisalign is your answer!
Most people want straight teeth but are put off by the idea of wearing traditional 'train-track' braces.
Our orthodontic team at Park-Vue Dental are fully trained to offer advanced, traditional brace systems, such as Damon and Damon Clear, as well as Invisalign — the world's leading clear aligner system.
Invisalign straightens your teeth using a series of removable, see-through aligners that have been custom made to carefully move your teeth. They need to be worn for a minimum of 22 hours per day, and must be removed for eating and drinking (except water).
Your treatment length will vary depending on the complexity of your case, and can take as little as 3 months, or around 2 years. Wearing the aligners for the desired number of hours will also ensure that your treatment is completed on time.
Frequently asked questions
- How long does it take to straighten my teeth with Invisalign?
- Treatment times can vary from 3–18 months depending on the complexity of the corrections. Most patients will start to see results within the first few weeks of treatment. Book now to get an accurate smile transformation treatment time.
- Is Invisalign as good as fixed braces?
- Invisalign is a fast and effective system used to treat a variety of issues, including crowding, overbite problems and treating gaps. During your consultation, we will discuss all the options available to your unique case, and will work with you to create a bespoke treatment plan. Our 3D Smile Simulation will allow you to visualise what your teeth will look like at the end of treatment.
- How often do I change the aligners?
- Every 7–14 days, depending on your bespoke treatment plan. We will recommend that you move on to the next aligner once your teeth have moved adequately to fit your current aligner.
- What are attachments?
- Attachments and buttons are small, tooth-coloured bumps that are professionally applied to your teeth to help the movement of teeth in a certain direction. They are made out of a white filling material, applied at different stages of your treatments and then carefully removed once they are no longer needed. They are not always necessary, although they can make your treatment time quicker and more predictable.
- Is Invisalign painful?
- Every orthodontic force should be as gentle as possible. You may feel pressure over the first few days as your teeth move into a new position. As your teeth get used to moving, the discomfort is minimal and there is usually no need to take painkillers.
- Is Invisalign suitable for children and teens?
- Orthodontic treatment can be considered as early as the age of 7, but this is dependent on what the problem is. Your dentist should be able to tell you when the right time to see an orthodontist is. Invisalign is designed with children and teens in mind, since it allows gentle and effective tooth movements with discrete removable aligners. This can help your child eat and brush as normal throughout their treatment.
- Can you eat with Invisalign braces?
- Aligners should be removed each time you eat or drink any fluid which is not water. They are not designed to be kept in whilst you eat. Rinsing your teeth after a meal is recommended, before you put your aligners back in. This will help maintain good oral hygiene.
