Conscious sedation can be used alongside local anaesthetic to make treatment as comfortable as possible for you. Local anaesthetic refers to the normal anaesthesia which is given for routine dental treatments and conscious sedation, refers to methods such as intravenous sedation which can help patients feel at ease and more relaxed during treatment.
We are pleased to have onboard our team practitioners who have achieved their SAAD accreditation meaning they are able to administer conscious sedation to patients in dental practices. We have been providing sedation services for over 25 years.
Sedation is a great option for any patients who feel anxious regarding dental treatment or have a dental phobia. Sedation can also be used for patients who have strong gag reflexes and struggle to tolerate dental instruments in their mouth.
Prior to treatment we always carry out a full consultation appointment where we will discuss your sedation options and explain how the procedure works, this is a great opportunity for us to answer any questions you may have too!
On the day of your sedation appointment it’s important that you are able to bring someone with you to help escort you home, as well as arrange any childcare if necessary.
